What to Expect on This Course
Module 1 | The Psychology of Learning & Styles
STUDY HOURS 1
This module integrates concepts, psychology and approaches to teaching. Examining how Adult leaners need to be constantly engaged, stretched challenged and even presented with “risk” to maximise their learning and retention.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understanding what motivates and influences an adult to seek education.
- How adults learn and retain information
- How life skills, and experiences may impact on adult learning.
Module 2 | Roles & Responsibilities of a Teacher
STUDY HOURS 1
Teaching is not just about imparting knowledge and helping people learn, you also have a duty of care to your parents, including that of Health & Safety.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Create and maintain a safe learning environment
- Be able to carry out simple and quick risk assessments
- Understand how to aid the social learning that takes place within / outside of class
Module 3 | Teaching Styles - Teaching, Facilitating Discussion & Coaching
STUDY HOURS 2
Often teaching is a combination of many different styles rather than just one. Depending on which style we use and when, greatly impacts on the learning of the adult……and that of their mental wellbeing!

Module 4 | The Induction & Engagement Process
