When considering which course is right for you there are several options you may want to look at.

One is how the course is delivered and if it suits your style of learning and lifestyle. Options may include workshops, online (e-learning), correspondence (email based), or in person.

The other is how this is delivered and if the level of support is right for you. Do you want to crack on, do it at your own pace? no deadlines, or perhaps you work better with deadlines, or prefer more 121 accountability and support.

And of course the content ….

With so many options it can be hard – but read on for a quick guide and a bonus gift from us to you at the end.

Many courses are run on a workshop basis. Take a look at a short list of the ins’ and outs’ to see if this could be a good fit for you.

Its quick and simple IBM found that online learning contains 5 times more material than in person courses.
Hands on learning for some is their preferred way to learn. Lets get practicing those skills! Some find learning in a classroom environment nerve racking – 2 or 3 days is sometimes not enough time to settle in and start learning – by which time the course has finished
Instant feedback and answers If you only have a few days to cover all the material how much time do you have to practice your skills, gain feedback, formulate questions and really get to grips with the topic?

You may be surprised to know that in the right e- learning environment students actually retained up to 60% more than workshop students, whose typical retention in around 10%. This is because the student leads the experience, they can quickly move through things they may already know, or slow down over something they want to work on more.

Workshops seem to be a great fit for those that already possess the knowledge but just need a “rubber stamp” or maybe want some feedback on their teaching style.

Distance learning or online learning has years of research supporting its use, however, not all distance learning is equal. To get to this magic 60% retention, studies have identified what exactly makes the most effective and engaged learning experience for students.

So this puts the old “send the work and assignment to and fro by email” right out the window.

So what platform do we use here at Antenatal Training UK?

Well, in short we use both AND we offer two types of enrolment depending on your support and study preference!

It cannot go unacknowledged that everyone has different learning styles and needs. Antenatal Training UK, have used the latest research and technology to design and deliver your training experience to cover as many of those needs in a flexible way as possible.

We started by Investing a significant amount of time and money into an online platform.

Your online learning environment is filled with videos, articles, activities, animations and quizzes to make it fully interactive and self led. We don’t spoon feed you, we guide and prompt you, then encourage you to apply and share your learning with others on the live platforms.

The way we deliver your learning does include a hands on element – for example the Teaching Skills module asks you to gather a small group of friends or family together and try out some of your teaching plans, then reflect on them. We do ask for the sessions to be recorded where possible so we can support you in feedback.

However, we also offer a non-compulsory workshop for those that want additional support. This is offered at the end of the course when you are confident in your knowledge and thus will gain more from it.

The only exception is the EXTENDED Antenatal & Hypnobirthing Education Diploma or the Advanced Diploma in Antenatal & Hypnobirthing Education with Breastfeeding Counsellor  students wishing to teach for BirthWorld, who must attend a workshop.

We also offer two types of enrolment -

‘Ascend’ is suitable for those who wish to studying at their own pace, wanting support “as and when”. If this is your preference you can enrol at ay time, directly on the website. Right this very second.  There is no start date, no deadlines, no pressure. Just sign up and go!

However, for the student who prefers more structure, accountability, and more 1:1 support, we offer our ‘fixed enrolment’ known as the Accelerator. This only happens a few times a year and enrolment only opens for around 5 days. This is due to the high demand but also because the level of support you receive with this enrolment means that I cant take on more than 10 students at a time. You can find out more about this enrolment option here….

Enrolment for the Accelerator Courses opens January, April, July & October.
